SPATIAL IDEATION
CONCEPT & FORM DEVELOPMENT
The design for THE 78 in Chicago reimagines vertical living through a dynamic core-to-periphery concept, where a central core anchors a rotating structural system to optimize views, daylight, and spatial organization. Each rotation generates a unique architectural form while maintaining structural logic through a defined column grid and modular units. At ground level, the site plan seamlessly integrates with the surrounding waterfront, featuring interactive public amenities such as a participatory garden, outdoor gym, kids play area, and a series of walking tracks and decks that activate the river’s edge, creating a vibrant and engaging urban experience.
